Distressed Student Support
Unexpected financial crises can threaten a student's ability to remain at UCT, even when they are performing well academically. The Distressed Student Support Fund provides emergency, short-term financial assistance to Science students facing unforeseen personal or financial hardship. These funds help students overcome immediate challenges so that temporary setbacks do not become permanent barriers to progress.
Students Fee Support
Outstanding tuition (i.e., "fee debt") remains one of the most significant barriers to graduation for students in South Africa. The Student Fee Support Fund helps bridge fee shortfalls for deserving Science students who have demonstrated academic potential but are unable to settle their outstanding fees.
