Soapbox Science is an innovative public outreach initiative that celebrates women scientists and the research they conduct. These events turn everyday public spaces into lively arenas for learning, discussion, and scientific exchange.

Through Soapbox Science, the University of Cape Town and partner institutions bring cutting-edge science directly to the public — giving everyone the chance to listen, question, challenge, and connect with outstanding women researchers. There are no slides, no stages, and no barriers — just brilliant scientists sharing their discoveries and sparking curiosity and conversation. This event is perfect for all ages.
