Associate Professor Jack Fisher from Montana State University, will present the Department of Archaeology seminar with a talk entitled, "Interpreting First Peoples Bison Kills at Heritage Parks in the Great Plains of North America".

Translating professional archaeological research into meaningful educational experiences for the public has relevance world-wide. Ancient bison kill sites in North America provide a window into a category of archaeological site type that raises issues of broader archaeological interest that the public visiting heritage parks can be given access to. This talk addresses this context.

 Jack Fisher is Associate Professor of Anthropology at Montana State University. His research endeavours include investigations at several kill sites in the Great Plains of Montana. He is a frequent visiting researcher at UCT
