Dr Tom Flower, from Simon Fraser University, British Columbia, will present the Department of Biological Science's seminar witn a talk entitled, "Exploring the causes of increased nest predation in human altered environments: a case study on the Steller's Jay"

Since 2015 Tom has worked in British Columbia, Canada, investigating the nest predation behaviour of the Steller's Jay. He will present results from his first field season where he experimentally tested a possible explanation for why human land use can result in increased nest predation. He will then briefly discuss the management implications of this work and future avenues for investigation.
