Abigail Ramudzuli

BSc (Hons) (Limpopo)

Abigail was born and raised in Agatha, just outside Tzaneen, In the Limpopo Province. She is very passionate about the environment. After her matric, Abigail went to Southern African Wildlife College (SAWC) where she did a short course in Nature Guardianship and Environmental Education. It was here where her love for nature grew even more.  After the completion of her studies at SAWC, Abigail enrolled for a BSc in Life Sciences at the University of Limpopo (UL) where she majored in Zoology and Physiology. In 2016, Abigail visited the FitzPatrick Institute of African Ornithology for the first time. The exposure and experience made it even more interesting for her to pursue her studies in the field of ornithology. In 2017, She did her honours in Zoology at UL where she worked on larks for her research project. Her honours research focused on investigating the possible mechanisms of substrate colour matching in larks (Alaudidae). 

Her Masters research forms part of the Intra-African migrant project where she is focused on flight feather moult patterns and stable isotope analysis in the Woodland Kingfisher (Halcyon senegalensis). Abigail is supervised by Dr Dayo Osinubi and Prof. Peter Ryan
