Biodiversity expedition to Mozambique
The BBC have published an article on the international biodiversity expedition to Mount Mabu in northern Mozambique that Professor Claire Spottiswoode and Callan Cohen (Fitz Research Associate) participated in, where they completed an ornithological survey of Mount Mabu as part of a multi-disciplinary WWF team.
They were there to support the project to declare this unique mountain as a protected area and were able to confirm the presence of Namuli Apalis in the centre of the forest. This endangered species is the only bird completely restricted to Mozambique and Claire and Callan, through the Fitz, have been involved in expeditions supporting its conservation for 26 years.
