Awards at the Southern African Marine Sciences Symposium

At the 15th Southern African Marine Sciences Symposium (SAMSS) held in Stellenbosch last week, Fitz research associate Dr Lorien Pichegru received a SANCOR Emerging Scientist award, while MSc student Davide Gaglio was runner up for the best oral presentation for his talk “Linking the foraging ecology and population dynamics of Swift Terns to the availability of forage fish” and MSc student Noelle Tubbs (pictured left) received best poster in the student competition at the conference, for her poster titled "Heat Stress in African Penguins in the face of Climate Change".
