The Astronomy Department is currently constructing a radio teaching telescope interferometer on UCT upper campus, near the dam. The two domes will each house a 2.5-m radio telescope. This project is funded in part by the DARA project [Development in Africa with Radio Astronomy], in part by the SKA SA SARChI research chair, and in part by the University of Cape Town.

We aim to integrate the radio teaching telescope interferometer into the undergraduate curriculum (AST2003H) in 2018.
