Ian Durbach

Ian Durbach has been a core member of SEEC since 2015 and holds joint positions as adjunct associate professor in the Department of Statistical Sciences at UCT and senior research
fellow at the University of St Andrews. His research includes developing statistical and machine learning methods for ecological and environmental applications, such as designing and analysing wildlife surveys using spatial capture-recapture, modelling animal movement in response to environmental stressors, and identifying species and individual animals from images, audio, and video.
