Yann Rime

Yann is a postdoctoral research fellow at the FitzPatrick Institute of African Ornithology and SEEC (University of Cape Town). His research focuses on intra-African bird migration, an overlooked phenomenon. He investigates large-scale movement patterns of birds within Africa using citizen science data, and studies the movement strategies of Pennant-winged Nightjars, African Paradise-flycatchers and other migratory species with miniaturised multi-sensor loggers. This research is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.
