Andrew Skowno
Honorary Associate Professor
Dr Andrew Skowno is an ecologist and conservation planner who has worked at the interface of science, planning and policy in South Africa for the last 25 years. He is based at the Kirstenbosch Research Centre where he leads the National Biodiversity Assessment unit for the South African National Biodiversity Institute (Sanbi). His research is focussed on various aspects of ecosystems (classification, mapping, integrity and risk assessment), and on the development of national policies and regulations for biodiversity conservation. Andrew is an Honorary Associate Professor at UCT, affiliated to SEEC
