David Borchers
Prof. David Borchers is a statistician with around 30 years’ experience, specialising in the developing statistical methods to solve problems in ecology: mostly methods of estimating wildlife population abundance, distribution and population trajectories over time. His current research interests focus on various spatial sampling methods like spatial capture-recapture, particularly methods that use remote devices like camera traps and acoustic recorders to detect animals. He is currently Director of the Centre for Research into Ecological and Environmental Modelling at the University of St Andrews.
