Associate Professor Zarina Patel has been elected to the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf) in recognition of her leadership in urban sustainability, southern urban theorisation, and science–policy engagement. Her induction affirms the national and global impact of her scholarship — and her commitment to strengthening African knowledge systems.
