Action needed to reduce Cape Town’s water usage, says expert
Dr Kevin Winter, from the University of Cape Town’s Water Futures Institute, says the high demand is concerning and water restrictions should be introduced.
More needs to be done to reduce Cape Town’s water usage, an expert has warned.
In February, water usage exceeded one billion litres a day for the first time since 2014.
As the city grows it will need at least an extra 300-million litres per day by 2030.
