The UCT’s fisher empowerment project was rated in among the top 10 of 2000 global social change innovations. Dr Raemaekers received the netexplo-unesco award in Paris last week for the work on ABALOBI, a suite of connected mobile apps that help fishers participate in fisheries management and be more empowered in the market.
