Vernon Visser
Research Fellow
Dr Vernon Visser is a research fellow at SEEC. He has harbored a fascination with maps and the natural world since childhood. His research endeavors provide him with the chance to merge these twin passions. His primary focus lies in comprehending the reasons behind species occurrences and their spatial distributions, spanning past, present, and future scenarios. This research holds significance not only for deepening our comprehension of the natural world but also for practical applications. Vernon aims to address the challenges posed by global climate change, land-use alterations, and human-mediated species dispersal, which are driving unprecedented shifts in species extents and distributions.
