Dr Jane Battersby’s new co-edited book
Dr Jane Battersby’s new co-edited book, the Routledge Handbook of Urban Food Governance was published on 20 October 2022. This handbook, co-edited with leading international scholars, is the first collection to reflect on and compile the currently dispersed histories, concepts and practices of the rapidly emerging field of urban food governance. The book draws on case studies from around the world and includes chapters by researcher and practitioners.
As much as the book is an academic text, it is also a call to action and is dedicated to current and future researchers, activists and practitioners working towards more equitable, just and sustainable urban food futures.
“Cities are emerging powerhouses of food systems transformation. The Handbook of Urban Food Governance takes readers on a journey through a plethora of examples, providing a diversity of ideas of how to govern cities for better food systems. Recommended for anyone looking for a sense of hope and possibility.” Prof. Corinna Hawkes, City, University of London.
