The Geographical Society of China Awards Committee has awarded Professor Mike Meadows the GSC Fellowship in recognition of his outstanding support for the Society and Chinese geography.

At the GSC Standing Council Meeting held on 15th May, 2022, the fellowship was confirmed and approved and will be formally presented at GSC Fellowship Conferment  Ceremony. The GSC recognizes constant support and improved international influence of Chinese geography. The GSC is particularly grateful for  Mike's pratical advice and generous help to the 33rd International Geographical Congress hosted by the Society in 2016.

The GSC Fellowship was established in 2020 and the Society co-opts fellow members once every other year. This year marks the first year that GSC fellowships were conferred to foreign scientists.
