We are pleased to share the news that Honours student Milela Marawu has received both the Macalester-Pomona-Swarthmore Scholarship, and the Society of South African Geographers Honours Jubilee Bursary.

Milela hails from Walter Sisulu University where she did her BSc in Environmental Science which she finished in 2020. She worked for Isipho Environmental Consultants last year before her move to Cape Town and the Department of Environmental and Geographical Science at UCT for her Honours Degree at the start of this year. Milela describes herself as committed to the effective management of the earth’s terrestrial and aquatic resources. 

Coming to UCT has been a long-standing dream of Milela’s. We wish Milela well in her Honours year ahead.
