Delene van Wyk-de Ridder is a lecturer and researcher in Mathematical Statistics.  She holds an MSc. in Advanced Data Analytics from the University of Pretoria.  She is currently pursuing a PhD in Mathematical Statistics at the same institution and is passionate about teaching and research.  She has taught numerous undergraduate courses, including STA2020 and STA1000.  Her first publication appeared in a South African journal in 2023, with a second in an international journal due to appear in May 2025.  Having entered the field of Statistics in 2019, she worked as a research intern on various postgraduate projects at the University of Pretoria.  Fluent in programming environments such as R and SAS, her current research focuses on the distribution theory of directional statistics, with special attention to clustering contaminated data.   She is also interested in further exploring application possibilities of modelling wind direction and animal movement in the directional realm.
