At the beginning of every year, Mail&Guardian  open up nominations for Young South Africans online. This year over 8,000 nominations were received. Once nominations are closed a thorough process is followed through, short listing potential candidates from each category.  A team of writers then contacts the selected candidates and write profiles based on the interviews  they have with them.
