BIODIVERSITY CAREERS EXPO
Staff and students of the Department of Biological Sciences were involved in an annual Biodiversity Careers Expo held at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden. 214 learners and 14 educators from 14 High Schools attended the event, which was aimed at showcasing study and career opportunities in biodiversity. The event was extremely successful, with participants appreciating the exposure to the range of career and study possibilities offered in the Western Cape, many of which had been previously unknown to them.

OPEN DAY 2015
UCT hosted Open Day on 18th April 2015. The event was aimed at high school students in Grades 10, 11 and 12, their families, teachers and guidance counsellors, with the goal being to expose learners and their parents to the range of study options available at UCT. Staff and students of the Department of Biological Sciences put together an interactive display showcasing the amazing research being undertaken in the department. The display was extremely popular, with student queueing up for more information on the plants and animals on display.
