Congratulations to Dr. Estelle Razanatsoa
We are pleased to announce the recent hiring of Dr. Estelle Razanatsoa to the position of a Junior Research Fellow at the Plant Conservation Unit, Department of Biological Sciences, University of Cape Town.
The position is funded by the University Of Cape Town Research Committee, following the PCU’s successful 5 year review. Estelle is a long-time member of the PCU, she completed a Ph.D. in palaeoecology in 2019 after which she then undertook a postdoc in a transdisciplinary project combining palaeoecology, conservation science, modeling, and social science to investigate the social-ecological vulnerability of landscape in Madagascar. In her new post, she will be working directly with Prof Gillson and a cohort of collaborators at UCT and internationally to investigate environmental changes and responses in southern Africa to climate and land use change through a model data fusion approach. Estelle’s ability has been recognised internationally through successful collaborations, funding applications and awards. Her skills at the interface between palaeoecology and modelling are critical for the realization of the PCU’s past-present-future perspective on landscape change.
Welcome Estelle!
