Welcome Sally Mashele

The Plant Conservation Unit (PCU) would like to give a warm welcome to Sally Mashele who has recently joined us as a Research Assistant. Sally will largely assist the PCU team with GIS and other mapping software.
Originally from Hazyview, Sally completed her undergrad and Honours degrees at the University of Cape Town. The aim of her Honours project was to analyse fire events (frequency and severity) in Jonkershoek Nature Reserve using fire history and Landsat data with ArcGIS and Erdas Image software. Her project was co-supervised by Kaveer Singh (Geomatics) and Prof. Timm Hoffman (Biological Sciences). Sally graduated at the beginning of April 2018, you can read more about it here.
Welcome Sally!
