Samantha Venter, the project coordinator of rePhotoSA, presented at the Animal Demography Unit’s (ADU) 20th Citizen Scientist Day in Kimberley over the weekend (7 May 2016). rePhotoSA is the repeat photography project of southern African landscapes and is a joint initiative of the Plant Conservation Unit (PCU) and the ADU.

Samantha described the value of repeat photography and its role to play in understanding how landscapes have changed (and are changing) over time. She discussed current contributions of repeat photographs by citizen scientists and how the public can get involved further. She also spoke about where the project is going and what the PCU hopes to see in the future.

Overall the day was a great success with 100+ attendees, including children from local schools. Many people commented to say that the day was memorable and that they felt inspired to get involved in the various projects as citizen scientists.

Below are some pictures of the day taken from the Kimberley-ADU Citizen Science Page (https://www.facebook.com/events/1335514616465544/?active_tab=posts).
