This past Saturday, 25 July, Timm Hoffman, Robin and Patricia Burnett and Els Dorrat-Haaksma lead a guided walk of the Zandvlei Nature Reserve, which was well attended by about 30 interested participants. During the two and a half hours of the walk, the discussion and talks focused on key plant groups, communities and ecological processes. Participants also asked questions about things they observed along the way. This guided walk was part of an on-going awareness raising and outreach project of the Zandvlei Trust.

Timm has been involved in Zandvlei for a long time and initiated the Zandvlei Inventory Monitoring Project, which Robin and Patricia Burnett have contributed to via the establishment of a comprehensive herbarium of the greater Zandvlei Nature Reserve, comprised of over 500 species. Els Dorrat-Haaksma, co-author of 'Restios of the Fynbos', and is very knowledge about the area.
More information about the Zandvlei Trust is available on their website and more photographs of the walk can be found on the Zandvlei Trust Facebook page.
