We have a number of things to celebrate here at the Plant Conservation Unit. One of them is unveiling of our new logo which captures a number of elements of the work we do here at the PCU.

We are also launching a new citizen science project - rePhotoSA – which focuses on landscape change in southern Africa.  The project is a collaboration between the Plant Conservation Unit and the Animal Demography Unit.

And thirdly we will be celebrating the launch of A/Prof Lindsey Gillson’s new book ‘Biodiversity Conservation and Environmental Change - Using palaeoecology to manage dynamic landscapes in the Anthropocene’. The book, which was largely written during her sabbatical year, is now available from Oxford University Press.

Details of the event:

Date: Friday, 29th May

Time: 4 – 5 pm

Place: Plant Conservation Unit, 5th Floor, HW Pearson Building

The event is open to all in the Department of Biological Sciences and friends of the PCU. Please RSVP before 27th May 2015 to Anabelle Cardoso (anabellecardoso@gmail.com).
