Dr Sina Wallschuss

"Postdoctoral Fellow"

My research interests lie at the intersection of marine biogeochemistry and physical oceanography in the South Atlantic Ocean, with a broad focus on nitrogen cycling and stable isotope geochemistry. As part of the WHIRLS project (https://www.whirls.eu), I investigate the effects of meso- and submesoscale dynamics on biogeochemical cycling in the Cape Basin. As part of the WAM project (https://westafricanmargin.com), I focus on nitrous oxide (N2O) and other nitrogenous compound cycling across the low-oxygen West African margin and open-ocean Equatorial Atlantic, with an emphasis on quantifying N2O emissions to the atmosphere.
