I am currently a Lecturer at the University of Cape Town.
My research area is String theory and Cosmology.
I started my current position at UCT in October,2019. Previously i worked as a Lecturer at the University of Winsdor, Canada from 2017 to 2019. From 2012-2015 I was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Witwatersrand and from 2015-2017 i was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Cape Town. I have an ongoing research collaboration with the Perimeter Institute in Waterloo, Canada.
I obtained my Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Physics from the University of Dhaka in 2004. In 2004 I began my graduate study at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning a Ph.D. in 2010 as a student of Professor Akikazu Hashimoto. My Ph.D. thesis, entitled "Exotic Geometry in String Theory and Cosmology" explores geometry from two different avenues--non-commutative field theories along with their dual gravity theories and de Sitter model from type II string theory.
