The African Heritage Hub and Research Centre (AHHRC) envisions Africa’s heritage as a source of inclusive economic and social benefit for youth. We see this achieved through the economic and social development of young people through innovative ways of engaging with their heritage, and through intergenerational exchange.

As an inter-disciplinary hub, the AHHRC works with experts from archaeology, architecture, heritage, the built environment, earth, and engineering sciences in addition to the business sciences. Together, we support research projects and engage partners in how to enhance opportunities at heritage sites and museums in the region.

Specifically, we aim to inform interpretation, conservation, sustainable entrepreneurial initiatives, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda at heritage sites.
