Naseera Moosa
Topic: Addressing the shift in whale species dominance through predator feeding techniques in the IWC Management Area IV
Naseera completed her BSc at the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 2012, majoring in Applied Mathematics, Mathematics and Ocean and Atmospheric Science. In 2013, she completed her BSc (Honours) degree in Applied Mathematics. After working away, she returned to UCT in late 2014, becoming a member of the MARAM Group as a Research Assistant. In 2015, she pursued her MSc with MARAM, her thesis involving the krill-predator dynamics of the Antarctic ecosystem. She graduated in 2017, and spent 3 years in Japan before returning to South Africa in 2020. In late 2020, she pursued her PhD with MARAM, her thesis looking into the interactions between krill, minke and humpback whales in the Antarctic.
