This three day residential field trips visits some iconic geological sites around the Western Cape, with type examples of basic features such as cross-beds, unconformities, xenoliths and intrusive contacts. We visit the West Coast National Park and the West Coast fossil park, we hike through nature reserves and across beaches, and we take a road trip through the Cape fold belt to see Palaeozoic sediments.
