Chemistry Department Kicks Off 2026 with Team-Building Day in Tokai

The Chemistry Department welcomed the 2026 academic year with a vibrant and successful team-building event held in Tokai on 3 February 2026. The event brought together staff, postgraduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and the incoming Honours class of 2026 for a day of connection, relaxation, and celebration.

Organised on behalf of the Head of Department, with significant planning efforts by Ms Deirdre Brooks, the day offered a welcome chance to step away from the PD Hahn Building and the demands of a busy academic schedule, fostering a sense of community. Attendees enjoyed a range of fun activities, including interactive games and karaoke, which encouraged participation and team spirit across all groups.

The event also served as a warm welcome to the new Honours students, marking the beginning of their journey within the department. With a beautiful venue in Tokai and a well-received lunch, the day was widely regarded as a highlight by all who attended.
