Thesis title: Impact of event-based versus average-rainfall-fraction recharge methods on predictive groundwater models for mine closure

Research interests:Hydrogeology, Mine Closure and Groundwater Modelling

The study challenges the use of recharge as a percentage of mean annual precipitation in predictive groundwater models for post mine closure water accounting. Particularly, in the context of mine closure financial provisions and climate change effects on rainfall intensity and frequency.
