Thesis title: Alkaline magmatism in southern Namibia
Research interests: Mantle geochemistry, isotope geochemistry, igneous petrology
My Honours project aims to use geochemical data to understand lithosphere-asthenosphere interactions and evolution of the continental lithospheric mantle by analysing ultramafic alkaline igneous rocks (kimberlites, olivine melilitites, lamprophyres) and related carbonatites in southern Namibia. The project will also refine the understanding of whether southern Namibian alkaline magmatism has a lithospheric or sub-lithospheric source.
