Lungelo completed his BSc degree, majoring in Chemistry and Human Physiology & Anatomy at the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 2019. His BSc(Hons) project was carried out under the supervision of Dr Oliver in 2020. In 2021, he joined Dr Oliver's research group, pursuing a project involving the data mining of entangled metal-organic frameworks on the Cambridge Structural Database, whilst also pursuing experimental studies aimed at producing non-entangled and entangled MOFs with the same network topology.
