The Science Faculty at UCT presents the Dean's Dialogue, 

"The Climate Crisis:  How is the UCT Science Faculty part of the solution?"

This dialogue brings together five expert panelists who will address the question in this event's title along with some of the following questions and/ or issues related to them:

1. What is the role of a University Science Faculty in addressing the climate crisis?
2. What is the single most urgent scientific research question with respect to the climate crisis?
3. What critical skill do science undergraduates need, to be part of a solution?
4. What should be SA’s number one priority in addressing the climate crisis?
5. Are there stark knowledge/expertise gaps in the SA workforce that inhibit a transition to clean energy?
6. Can a transition to clean energy be just?
This event is open to the whole University (staff, postdocs, postgrads) along with the general public, and questions/comments will be taken from the floor.

The event will be moderated by the Dean of Science, Professor Maano Ramutsindela.
